Hermitage Books

Hermitage Books has thus far published only the works of novelist and poet Kevin Krogh, but is now taking the next step toward becoming the premier publisher of quality fiction for the LDS market. Hermitage books will consider manuscripts from authors who write extremely well and who desire publishing services superior to those currently provided by existing LDS publishers. The goal is to provide a place where a certain kind of writer can publish: very good writers who don't want to sign their writing lives away; writers who don't want to be associated with a publisher that, though it may publish good writing, also publishes mediocrity; writers who don’t want to self-publish, but who still want the advantages of self-publishing.

More than just an independent publisher, Hermitage Books aspires to be a coalition of a few very good writers who publish under what will one day become the most reputable name in LDS publishing. If you are a writer whose main objective is to have your writing marketed through a publisher, you should not submit your work for consideration. Hermitage Books is not yet a supplier and does not yet provide any marketing services. What, then, does Hermitage Books provide? It provides quality editing and copyediting, innovative cover design, and everything else needed to produce a quality “published” work of fiction. For the time being, you the author will have to do whatever marketing you desire on your own. Once a sufficient number of quality works have Hermitage Books on their spine and cover page, the company will take the next step in its evolution: marketing and distributing.

So, if after reading the sample pages of Kevin Krogh’s novels available here on this website you think you might meet the same standard of narrative excellence, and, if you like the idea of publishing your novel under the Hermitage Book name and becoming part of the Hermitage Book coalition, send your manuscript and letter of inquiry to .
